India introduces Mandatory BIS Certification for Water Chillers

In an order outdated September 25, 2023, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of India’s Ministry of Trade and Industry emphasized the necessary BIS Certification for self-contained drinking water coolers. The guideline, known as the Self-Contained Drinking Water Cooler Quality Control Order, intends to increase the criteria of water chillers in the Indian market.

Suppliers are needed to get BIS-ISI accreditation by March 25, 2024 in order to be able to import or offer products in this group in India after the due date.
