BIS Guwahati branch hosts interactive sessions in Shillong to promote quality standards

The BIS Guwahati Branch Office held an interactive session on June 05 with stakeholders, sectors, academic community, and research laboratories at Hotel Pinewood, Shillong. 

The occasion included Pramod Kumar Tiwari, IAS Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and was gone to by Pravin Bakshi, IAS Commissioner & Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Meghalaya, along with various other officials. 

Tiwari highlighted the importance of high-quality awareness in items and procedures, stressing the duty of licensed requirements in advertising high quality. 

He emphasized the demand for recognition and sensitization around standards and compliance with quality control orders for suppliers. He likewise talked about numerous BIS initiatives such as Hallmarking, the BIS CARE application, and important criteria for day-to-day products.

Furthermore, Tiwari clarified on the value of Product Certification (ISI mark), Management Systems Certification, Hallmarking of Gold and Silver Jewellery, and Laboratory Services, intending to profit both markets and consumers. 

The communication aimed to foster partnership and discuss key issues connected to BIS’s efforts to promote criteria across various markets of the economy to build a durable quality ecological community. 

The session also mulled over on numerous BIS systems for protecting consumer rate of interests.
