India issue mandatory inspection orders to control quality for steel products made of 145

The Indian government has issued obligatory QCOs (QCOs) for steel and iron products in the amount of 145 A government official announced on Wednesday, February 27 according to the official announcement.

The official stated that the items covered by the QCOs comprised stainless steel pipes and tubes and steel wire that is used for making clips, pins and staples mild steel to make electrodes for welding metal mild steel wire rods to be used for general engineering galvanized structural steel structural steel bars that have Hot Dip zinc coated bar for concrete reinforcement, ferrochromium, and sicomanganese.

The QCOs applicable to the products will take effect in stages in the coming 3 to 6 months.

When the QCOs take effect, no product may be made or traded, stored, sold or imported without a quality certificate by BIS. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Any violation of the QCOs will result in penalties of fines and imprisonment.
