Everything You Need to Know about LED Lighting

A lighting fixture can only be as effective as the bulb that you put inside it. But a trip to the lighting aisle could become overwhelming quickly due to the numerous designs of shapes, sizes, and designs currently available. We contacted Lights Fantastic’s the former President, Jon Sayah, to give us a clearer idea of what we should be aware of. In addition, local design experts share their thoughts on the best bulbs and the most innovative ways to incorporate your lighting. Thomas Edison wishes.

“It used to be a house had 100 recessed down lights, but now you can do so much more than that,” Sayah states. He cites advancements made possible by technological advances in LED lighting, such as beams that are embedded into the walls of homes, strips for wayfinding inserted into flooring, LED tape hidden behind the fascia of closets and bathroom mirrors that are illuminated. It’s important to realize that the only thing that has changed is the technology, not the technique, Sayah says. A room will always require an array between general light, accent lighting along with task lighting.

LED lighting is more soft and more adaptable. These is a characteristic that makes the house feel like an ideal home.

“The less the color temperature is, the more warm the light, and also the more cozy and comfortable it is. This is why amber light bulbs can be great for night light in a stairwell such as. As you climb higher on the spectrum of colors it gets more bright and bluer. This is good for getting up and getting to work,” Sayah says.

In the past, it was that homeowners could choose either warm or cool white bulb. But today, smart LED lighting gives more choices. “You can still dim for less or more light,” Sayah states, “but now you can change the coolness or warmness of a bulb as well.”
